Runners say...
Here is what our inaugural runners has to say about Ranga Run !
I have been part of few marathon outside india, where they showcased thier history. Was longing for a similar experience in India and so satisfied to say that Rangarun fulfilled that dream by conducting this run close to our roots & culture.
Flagging off with "Kombu, Kahale" from the main gate of a temple, jogging alongside of the villages's main water bodies, passing through rich Areca and Coconut farms, being cheered by people from the neighboring villages and the list goes one. It was wonderful to see the whole Sarigehalli village stood as Volunteeers to make this run possible, a big THANK YOU to all of them.
With Rangarun, witnessed many firsts in a marathon - live tender coconuts at the finishing line, soaked peanuts and green gram sprouts at the start, locally grown banana, amazing post run meal. All in all, a unique run that should be experienced by every runner out there.
Ranga Run 23 was my 5th Half Marathon, will be back for 2024.

Pr. Software Engineer, CDWIn fact, I was clueless about this event. My good friend Mala, referred me to the link and I was informed a passionate INDIAN runner currently residing in USA is organizing and hosting the event. Post registration, had couple of interactions with the chief architect of the event, based the the briefing, I was very eager to participate along with my friend Karthik, even though we had to travel 120 plus kms from Bangalore, It was worth every km of the run. I did 21km run, amidst the beauty of nature, farms, and coconut trees It was amidst greens throughout.
First and foremost, the hospitality extended was an awesome experience, as if boys side is attending the marriage at girls hometown. Every volunteer was pro active, humble and guiding. The pre run arrangements were fantastic, even though it was the first time they were organising. The bib distribution was at the site, well in advance, with each volunteer helping the runner. The start off was with loud trumpets and Josh !! All locations, key turning points ,were perfectly marked. It was unbelievable to notice that event had portable toilets at designated distances, to assist the runners. The medical emergency support was well in place.
We complete the run with warmth welcome of the village folks which brightened our spirits. It was a humbling experience for us. To add icing on the cake there was event photography serving to enrich our memories, whenever we remember Ranga Run. Last but not least, what an excellent running T-SHIRT !! beautifully crafted, I love running with it even today, too good !
Overall a Lovely memory.

Facilitator, Economy Loans & Sr. Engineering Manager, CognizantRanga Run was one of the most unique marathon that I have experienced and great kudos to the organizers! It was so amazing from start of traditional music by temple to sumptuous lunch, post our 10K
It was flashback of our years gone by summer vacation as kids to village visiting maternal grandparents and their farm with plenty of trees, livestock, tender coconuts, fresh air and sound of birds.
There was no use of plastic and so well prepared challenging course along water and scenic route. It was an eye opener when curious villagers recognized us and asked questions, not to mention their hospitality of serving nutritious snacks of nuts and fruits.

Participating in an event organized not by a corporate or event management company but by the people of Sarigehalli village was a delightful surprise. Their love and hospitality were on par with any corporate marathon. From refreshing tender coconuts for rehydration to organic food after the run, the experience was exceptional.
Personally, what made it even more special was receiving medals from the senior members of the village. The youth team behind this event showcased remarkable vision and dedication.
We are eagerly looking forward to the 2024 marathon, not only to participate but also to reconnect with the wonderful people of the village.
